Now that my pain killers have taken effect, I realize I did too much today.
First, Nathan had an appointment at the pediatrician's office to check his weight. He was 7 lbs 13 oz at birth, 7 lbs 3 oz on Thursday, and 7 lbs 4 oz today. So while he has gained (the pediatrician says he probably bottomed out over the weekend and only just started gaining), I was kinda hoping it had been more. He eats like a pig (and hiccups after every feeding from eating too fast), has plenty of wet and poopy diapers. He has another weight check next Wednesday. I believe the average expected weight gain after they start gaining is 1 oz a day, so we should see him gain about 9 oz, which would put him back at his birth weight.
After the visit to the pediatrician, we had some more errands to run, including putting the paperwork in for Nathan's Birth certificate at City Hall/Court House and taking Terry's FMLA paperwork to the OB office. We ended at the grocery store.
We went with a list, but still found ourselves going up and down every aisle. We did stick to the list for the most part, although there were some deals (10 for $10) that we couldn't pass up. We left with everything we needed for this week's meals plus some for under $80. But by the end, after all of the walking, I was having a lot of pain both from my stitches and cramping.
I took some pain meds when I got home and waited for them to kick in before making dinner. The good thing is that tonight's dinner was easy (see taco night post).
Tomorrow I plan to take it easier. Stephen will be going to daycare and it will be me and the baby. I hope to work on addressing the birth announcements and work on the cross stitch birth record that I am doing.
Terry is not feeling well, and is staying home one more night. I plan to pretend he isn't here though, since starting tomorrow night he won't be home most nights. Stephen is still feeling under the weather too. He coughed so hard today that he threw up a few times.
Stephen is now in bed, Nathan is fed (for now), and Terry and I will be going to bed shortly.
It's a common thing to overdo. Try pacing but if you succeed it will not be because you are my daughter. I have NEVER been able to pace myself. I am wore out from something, but I couldn't tell you what. My back and hips are super sore, so today I am trying to do little. Wish me luck. Love you
